Four Grandkids Visit to Tucson - - 2019
ButtBook      ButtBook Fun Stuff

Our four youngest grandchildren visited us here in Tucson in June/July 2019. Aaron 16 and Nadia 10 from Pennsylvania brought their mother Tammi with them. Madison 12 and Aubrey 8 from Texas brought their grandparents, Cheryl and Jeff. Each family spent about two weeks with us with a week of overlap in the middle. It was hectic and crowded with seven visitor, but everyone had a great time. They enjoyed interacting with Cappy and Tazz, although Cappy was a bit overwhelmed. (Garrett and Harley had already passed away.)

The pictures on this page were taken during this visit. More pictures from earlier visits can be found on the pages for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and March 2019.

Aaron and Nadia with the Mustang
Aaron had turned 16 in May and got his driver learning permit before coming to Tucson. So, Aaron moved from the passenger seat during his March visit to the drivers' seat. And, Nadia enjoyed pretending to be in a parade with her cello.

Swimming Pool
Aubrey, Nadia, Madison and Aaron enjoyed the pool almost every day. Nadia, Madison and Aaron are great swimmers. Aubrey is really brave in the water, but could use some lessons on strokes. The temperatures were mostly above normal (see chart) and the water temperature was mostly in the eighties. The Arizona sun was intense but no one got sunburned.

Minature Golf
Tammi, Cheryl, Jeff and the four cousins played miniture golf at the same course where they played five year ago, when all were here for our 50th anniversary party.

Nadia and Madison with the cello
Nadia had been playing the cello for about a year and practices regularly. We rented a cello for her to play here because it was too hard to take on the plane. Nadia and Ellen played together a couple of times.

Madison had a beginners lesson from Nadia and a lesson from Ellen also. Unfortunately, we did not get any pictures of Madison playing.

Playing Games
Most of the gang spent an evening playing charades. Nanny also taught the kids how to play mah-jongg. Some of the kids had their phones for entertainment. Nadia had her books and read during every spare moment, even in the car.

Mount Lemmon
Cheryl and Jeff drove up to Mt. Lemmon one day with Aubrey and Madison. They ate lunch at the Cookie Cabin and brought a cookie back for me.

Tucson Zoo
Cheryl, Jeff, Madison, Aubrey and I went to the Tucson Zoo early one morning. After visiting the animals and feeding the giraffes, we enjoyed eating at the zoo restaurant called Zoofari.
